I saw a deal on OfferUp for a Redsea Tank and stand but came in second to line. They had a failed move attempt and cracked the tank so I ended up getting the stand and sump for free. Redsea is a pain when it comes to ordering individual pieces especially if you’re not the original owner so I ended up going with the SCA 150. The tank came in beautifully and I’m happy with the choice. I could’ve went custom to avoid the stand overhanging past the tank but it would’ve cost double if not triple the price. Only minor thing I saw with the tank was the front panel of the overflow extends past one of the side panels by a little bit.

Here’s when I first picked up the stand, had to drill different bulkhead holes for the tank.

Tank is gonna be fish only, started making the rock scape over the weekend using Marco mortar kit. Made this cave with a bunch of openings and I’m pretty pleased with it. I tried to lift it and it shifted a little so I have more mortar on the way to shore it up.

Hung a couple AI primes over the weekend and had to ream out the holes in the stand. I miscalculated the hole size because of the washer that goes around the bulkhead. Sad to admit it ended up talking me about two hours between cleaning up the plastic shavings and drywall dust. Next step is the plumbing

Anyone familiar with the sump detail on the Red Sea S-650? I believe the yellow is where the water drains into but from my understanding this set up normally doesn’t use filter socks. I’m trying to get sock holders with bulkheads but the quiet ones unfortunately don’t fit the 5 7/8” width. The light blue is where the roller mat area would be I think. The purple is the filter media space and the red is the return pump/ato. Not sure how the ato works either. I’ll probably put a reservoir under the power station and drill a hole to the sump side for the water line and most likely tunze sensors.

The largest area I’d put the skimmer and maybe some media brick in there or algae scrubber

I grabbed the image below from the redseafish.com website. The yellow section is the drain, the section with the float valve is the return. The s-650 has a fresh water reservoir at the rear of the display tank that connects to the float valve so you could always connect to any appropriate container. Skimmer is on the left. I had this tank and plumbed in a Theiling roller mat in the blue section - had it resting on a stand. I had some rubble in that section too, under the rollermat.
