The tank has been up just over a year. Some of the corals have had significant growth and others not. The Caulerpa continues to be a problem. The Pom Pon Xenia has almost become a weed in itself.

You can see this tank and others on my blog: http://wwwmynewportreef.blogspot.com/

The tang will nibble on it but does not eat enough to make any difference. I was just thinking of going in there and "harvesting" again but I am too lazy tonight. Besides I don't want to get too busy and miss Survivor lol.

Great to see a fellow Oregonian on here. I am currently in GA, but in a few years when I retire I will head back to Oregon. Tank looks nice. What size is it?

The tank belonged to my son. He had it special built. He always called it a 50 gal but after measurements it turns out to be closer to 40 gal. The sump/ refugium is a 20 gal long that is kept at around 3/4 full. It has an auto top-up to keep it constant.

Ranger:

My son lives in Aloha and we are both reefers. We usually shop at Waves or the Seahorse aquarium store in north Portland. For attitude and good deals I prefer the Seahorse. The large Capnella sp seen in my blog came from that store, The bad part is that it is clear across town so if my son is going to pick something up in a hurry he goes to Waves. However, I usually order most of my stuff, hardware and critters, on line. My preference: Foster & Smith.
