My wfe and I thought it was time to do a little upgrading.
Actually, we had wanted to have a cube tank for quite some time, and since I have had a tall tank, I realize the benefit of having more real estate.
New tank specs:
Being created by SoCal Creations and should be done by mid-week. http://www.socalcreations.com
30 gallon 24"x24"x12" (LxWxH)
3/8" Spartech Acrylic
3" eurobracing (1" along the back wall)
Center back overflow
1.5" drain with durso standpipe
3/4" return w/dual 2.5" Loc-Line flare nozzles.
10 gallon AGA sump
CPR S2 in-sump skimmer
Quiet One 3000 for return
Waterflow
I calculated approx 550 gph for my return pump.
Additional flow will be from 2 Seio 620's
This puts me at about 1790 gph.
Lighting:
Single 150 DE Metal Halide w/PFO pendant
14k Phoenix bulb
(I don't believe that it will be necessary to have any actinic at this point)
Filtration will be the above mentioned skimmer and the 30 or so pounds of LR from my 20H. I will cure more LR if I need to.
I was planning on only having a 1/2" sandbed, possibly Caribsea Aragonite Special Grade.
Hopefully the transfer will be smooth with no losses. Any suggestions would be great, especially with livestock choices.
Here are a couple of pictures of the work in progress from socalcreations website.
