There is something wrong with my camera. The pictures are just not coming out correctly. Think it is time for a new one. Here are some that weren't as bad as the others.
The live rock is just placed on top of each other, but I have a few pieces on the left hand side held in place with epoxy. Only 2 pieces if I remember correctly. Hope nothing bulldozes it. 8O I do need to get some epoxy today to mount a new acro frag, I dont think I could glue it. The frags were a pain to attach, as I had to remove the rock for a quick second to glue the frags to the rock. With over 1200 gph flow in a 20, things can blow around quite easily.
What epoxy do you get thats reef safe? via internet or walmart,Lowes, HomeDepot?? Im on a never ending quest to find decent epoxy..the last stuff I used was garbage..
Hmm, then you def won't like the holdfast. That's what I have now and it sucks worse than the aquastick. I still have almost the entire tube left...what a waste of $$.
I just got some new Frags today..I posted them on here in my thread..I bought some glue when i bought the frags..That glue gel is great for frags...Ricky where do you get your frags from?? Online,LFS or friends/reefclub?
I usually get my frags from a LFS that is close by. I got a bunch from a frag swap. Swaps are definately the best way to go, soooo cost effective. The only livestock I ordered online was a clean up crew of some snalis and hermits, I have never wanted to bite the bullet for shipping. Some of the online vendors are local to LA, but still want 40-50 bucks for shipping. Go figure. :?
I get my SPS frags from Coral Dynamics...Good stuff but yeah shipping..Its worth it to me though...That formosa isnt looking too good either..Its starting to bleach and im not sure why...It could be that Coral Dynamics uses VHO lighting and I use MH...I have roughly 800gph in water flow so that should be enough for SPS...I have problems with keeping SPS and Im not sure why..I have good water conditons, PH is fine..RO water salinity is at about 1.024..I acclimate by putting the bags in the water first to get temp right, then i start adding in water from my tank to the container i move the frags to to get the other parameters correct...Ca seems to be acceptable, 450..That ok. I also add in Kalkwasser slowly over the evening since i dont have a dosing pump to keep it regulated...
Got this one as kinda a rescue coral. Was completely browned out and had some tissue recession. It is starting to color up nicely and regrow some of the damaged areas.
Cool I just got some new frags also..A brown purple rimmed monti (really dull color, almost looks bleached) a green/brown monti cap, burnt red acro, a brown with blue/pink tip green acro, brown green blue tip staghorn, purple with green tip acro..The last one started bleaching so i broke off the tip and another small branch to save it...so far it looks good but both frags are now only about a 1/4" (maybe less)....I also have a birds nest a hammer coral and brown sinularia (which is probably going into the pico since i dont want that many softies in my tank...
