any new updates with the tank? Mine has been up for two months. the only problem is that my tank is now running at 88.f.I opened the top so it can cool off. Room temp is only 77.Can the maxi jets be creating all that heat? I have 2 stealth fans running. thinking of getting a chiller before I put coral in it. I now have 6 sm. chromis, 3 hermit crabs, 1 emrald crab and a sm.yellow watchman gobby and 25lbs live rock. I have a sapphire skimmer, a maxi jet 1200 and 900.

How did you setup your fans? The key is to have them both blowing out. If you have one in and one out, the current of air never gets a chance to hit the lights because of the fans being mounted behind the lights.

As far as updates; nothing yet. I did lose a colony of xenia, just melted away.

fans are both blowing out. After speaking with someone at nanotuners I switched to the glass top. I had the glass cut( It is not tempered) and put a plastic hinge inbetween the two pieces of glass so I could feed the fish. I also had it cut shorter to expose the media chambers to allow the heat generated from the pumps out. I added a 20" orbit 2x40wsunpaq. The tank is now staying at 79 degrees.

I had a few heat problems as well, but now that I added one of those clip on fans from HOF and now all is good. Also thank god for my RK2 it turns off equipment once the temp reaches 81 and turns on my fan at 80.
