Set Up Date : May 2000

Tank Size (LxHxW | Volume): 96"x30"x24" Standard 300 gal. acrylic. Homemade oak stand and canopy.

Sump Size (LxHxW | Volume): Upper sump: 15 gal. Lower sump: 55 gal.

Live Rock (Mass): about 220 lbs.

Live Sand (Mass): 200 lbs. dead aragonite seeded with 150 lbs. live from previous tank.

Lighting (Type | Wattage | Photoperiod): 6x55 watt PC (3 actinic, 3 6700K). 12 hours.
2 x 400 watt MH, 6500K Iwasaki mounted perpendicular to tank with reef-lectors (this gives good light distribution). 6 hours summer (limited by heat), probably 8-10 hours winter.

Protein Skimmer (Brand | Model): PM Bullet 3 with Mak-4 pump.

Biological Filtration (Type): live rock

Chemical Filtration (Type): carbon in filter trays every few weeks. Occasional use of PO4-minus.

Circulation (Rate | Brand | Model): 8 MJ 1200s on Tsunami wavemaker.

Return Pump (Rate | Brand | Model): 2 x Sen 900, about 1500 gph total at 6'.

pH(Morning | Evening):8.0 8.1

Temperature(Range | oC | oF): 82-5 F.

Specific Gravity / Salintity (g/g | ppt): 1.024.

Alkalinity (meq/l | dKH): 11 dKH

Calcium(ppm): 370ppm

Ammonia (ppm): 0

Nitrite (ppm): 0

Nitrate (ppm): 0

Phosphate (ppm): .03 now, sometimes higher

Fish : The usual suspects: kole, yellow, and purple tangs, percula, tomato, and cinnamon clowns, lawnmower blenny, Banggai cardinal, 3 green chromis, flame hawk, 6-line wrasse, royal dottyback.

Corals : various acropora and montipora sp., galaxia, flowerpot (oops), various mushrooms and softies (xenia, kenya tree, etc.). Most tank-raised.

Invertebrates : about 70 hermits, about 100 snails, 3 brittle stars, 4 emerald mithrax crabs, sally lightfoot crab, several camelback and cleaner shrimp, cucumber, T. crispata nudibranch.

Maintenance Program : About 2 gal. kalkwasser dosed with dosing pump daily. Still adding calcium to boost levels.

Additional Information: Most contents came from old tank. Still fairly lightly stocked with coral and rock. Will add more in time.
Could use more circulation.
