Tank Size and Type
Startup: July 8,2000
Tank Size: 60 x 21 x 18 = 125 capacity
Sump: 48 x 18 x 12= 55 capacity
Total system: contains one hundred and twenty gallons (120) actual water measured because of displacement.
Stand & Hood:
Stand: Measures 62 x 22 x 36 outside. Inside measurements are 51 x 19 x 30 due to the reinforcement. Stand alone weighs 300 lbs. The Doors, drawer, Face and all inset panels are solid maple wood. All of the joints are either tongue and grove or dovetail. Hinges are fully adjustable for throw and angles. The interior of the cabinet is sealed melamine and will hold water. There are also 2 four-inch holes for fan placement.
Hood: Measures 62 x 22 x 10. The top is solid one-piece construction hinging back. There are also 2 four-inch holes for fan placement. See lighting for outer info.
Live Rock: 150 lbs Fiji and 50 of Tonga Branch
Substrate:
Display: Approximately 150 lbs, which equals a 2-inch bed of mixed rubble sizes ranging from 1-½ inches to 1/32
Refugium: 2 inches of course rubble over a plenum with 5 inches of live sand. The sand in the refugium is from my broken down system, which was setup for 3yrs.
Lighting:
Display: 2 icecap 430’s driving 4, 5’ bulbs. 2 of the bulbs are 50/50 and 2 are 03 Actinic. 1 Tar Ballast driving 2, 4’ 03 Actinic bulbs. Totaling 720 watts of light.
***** In the near future Display lighting will consist of a PFO triple 250 ballast running 3, iwaski 6500, supplemented with a minimum of 2 5’ vho actinic bulbs. At this point the tar ballast will be removed and one of the icecap ballast will drive 3, 55 watt 6700 over the refugium.
Refugium: Custom Sea Life, “Sealight” 9 watt x 27 watt Retro combination mini retrofit with one 9 watt 7100K and one 27 watt 6700K with polished reflector, splash lens, lamps, remote ballast with 6' cord, and separate power cords for dawn and dusk control.
Protein Skimmer: Currently I am running a ETS Reef Devil 40
Biological Filtration: Jaubert
Chemical Filtration: None
Circulation-Return Pump: Mag 18 which is 1800gph @ 0ft head pressure. Actual head is 10 ft which reduces the gph down to 1000 approx.

Due to the fact that this system is new to me I havent' worked out the best maintenance program. So for now I dose 4 ml reef complete 4 ml of reef calcium and 2 ml Kent iodine twice a week. A mixture of Formula 1 flake and 2cup of cryo paste phytoplankton supplemented with recommended dose of ESV spray dried 3 times a week. Kalkwaster is dripped via Ecolab doser at the rate of 1 gallon per day.
