Vincent,......with ALL respect ......do NOT try to save penny's ( i know you don't) some times i got confuse also, steady Alk. for SPS is a......MUST.....Good salt is Tropic Marine Pro.....NEVER got wrong with that salt.
I know you will got GREAT SPS one day, but like i said Alk. is the key, in special LOW ( 7 Dkh) help a LOT for immunity of the tank ( Bacteria).
Most of ppl. consider W.D. or H.W. expert level.
You see it and YES i will give the Frag, i grow those as Chaetto, i STOP frag it because..............I got NO.......more room.
I got list 70 frags and 8 NICE mini colony (1 1/2") crown shape.
Everything is EASY........when use.........right stuff.
Stop , again i mod. some Rocks.

hey Vio with all due respect as well, Salt never made or broke a reefer.
if you haven't noticed most of the high-end acros growers use instant ocean (example jason fox, WWC), every reefer reef's differently. but Salt is not gonna make a reefer, its the dosing of Cal, Alk and mag that makes the difference.
i switched over to aquaforest dosing but kept my same salt cause honestly salt is just salt.
im not sure what salt Vincent uses but im sure it wasnt the salt that cause the alk swing. Actually Instant ocean is preferred by them because the levels are always consistent in the mix not to mention half the price.

I don?t know, I don?t blame the salt that I am using but every time I do water change something wrong happen. Now I test alkalinity everyday and Going back to 8 slowly and steady and not to stress the tank and I?m gonna leave them alone! again !!like What I did last year no water changes and just keep it simple and siphoned....

I can?t blame the salt, I have to blame my self because maybe I?m not doing it the right way. Anyways it?s going to be better now because I stop to do crazy things in the tank again ......

Not the RO, it?s me! The problem is I do a lot of changes in the tank new rockwork,filters, sponges, water change and some chemicals and I did it all so quickly that?s why the parameters went nuts and of course sps are not happy and starts stn but not all of them lol.
