2nd ATI dimmable Powermodule 4x24" added to the frag tank.

Added carbon to polish the water. Completed a 90G water change. Decreased N03 from 80ppm+ to around 40+. I'll do a second water change Wednesday.

Added a few coralline-covered rocks (eyed for any asterina stars that plague the current tank)

Added the ATO.

Added the 2 MP40s. Had a small scare when 1 controller kept shutting off after a minute. Did some research and a factory reset and it's good as new.

Went to add my BioBlock from the current tank iinto the new sump and my hand came up muddy. What a piece of junk. The thing basically disintegrated over the last year. Must not be bad for the tank since mine has never looked better lol...but disappointed nonetheless. Wanted that colony of bacteria =(

Anyone have any recommendations for water-resistant powerstrips to use in places I won't have APEX controllability?

Plumbing is ALL done! ReefTrends attached the Pentair UV, frag tank and Biopellet Reactor. Beautiful stuff.

Added some 3d printed cradles from 123eustratios from ebay. Nice stuff, quick to ship and willing to work with you buying in bulk. Super clean look with the wires hidden with black furniture covers. Ordering some more from the seller for sure.

Love the ATI Powermodules. I'm not a huge fan of this blue light fad, but to have the power to add some LED strips for pop in ramp up and down, on top of the growing power of T5s...I'm excited.

Also including some final shots of my aquascape. Lots of caves and swimthroughs. Really happy with how it came out.

Added a buddy's Yellow Tang to the mix of a McKoskers Fairy Wrasse, a beautiful Katherines Fairy Wrasse, a Scooter Blenny and 4 Green Chromis. All are following me already around the room.

Bought a small CUC of various snails (nerite, cerith, nassarius and fighting conch), small blue claw hermits (and I mean SMALL) and 2 DOA sand sifting starfish. Liveaquaria has refunded me the DOA, and I noticed a few empty shells in the snail bags...not sure I would order from them again for snails and hermits. These things were SUPER small and the empty shells piss me off...basically paid $1.50 x at least 5. I did order a blue tuxedo urchin that hasn't shipped yet...just a bit worried.

Tell me what you all think of the black loc-line from the sea swirls...yay or nay? Like the idea of extra flow without buying another $500 powerhead...but idk, they hang super low...

ugh, sorry for the head turning pics...

Weekend Update.

We have finally broken down my original Red Sea 250 reefer. All in all, was a great tank to learn on and assume a ton of patience as things fell apart around me haha. Was able to recover and for the last 16 months of its life, it was thriving. That success made me believe I could upgrade with at least tentative success and I haven't looked back. 7 months after the first piece of glass was glued together on the new tank and I was finally able to move over my Blue Linckia Starfish, tri color valida colony and my Wheeler's goby shrimp pair.

The 2 months or so since the initial stages of cycle have been relatively painless. I have to say the 6 months I had to kill my live rock really helped abate any algae growth. No hair, no diatoms (as I write this I knock on wood) and minimal cyanobacteria for the gluttony of livestock I had to dump in this thing pretty quickly. lost one fish due to aggression but everyone else is super happy

I now am the proud owner of a
-Katherines wrasse
-Six line (original tankmate)
-mated pair of clowns (hybrids couldn't tell you the type) (original tankmates)
-Lubbocks Fairy wrasse
-4 blue green chromis
-Midas blenny (original tankmate)
-Banghaii Cardinal (original tankmate)
-Melanarus wrasse (original tankmate)
-Wheelers Goby and shrimp pair (original tankmates)
-Yellow Tang - from my good friend fireshark as a present
-Bristletooth Tomini Tang (original tankmate)
-Scooter Blenny
-blue linckia starfish and black and white banded serpent star

Added some new equipment. The 2 Mp40s and the 2 sea swirls weren't cutting it, so I added a Maxspect Gyre XF250 that has really helped increase flow and cut down on cyano dead spots. I added the Alkatronic as well. Nifty little machine. Really love the constant alkalinty checks and corrections. Really excited to see where this hobby goes from here if this is the quality and craftsmanship of some of the newer equipment out there.

Frag tank is up and running and chock full of stuff. Marek gave me my first new mega frags of some easy sps and took advantage of a after live sale at AquaSd to get some nice LPS. All looking great, extended and happy.

Feeding 2-3x per day to lessen some aggression I've noticed. Increased the flow as well. Always have Nori for the tangs and everybody else lol
Feed Reef Roids 2x per week for now and added some Pods and phyto from Algae Barn ( not all that impressed - not sure I'll order from them again for the price)

Plan on dosing the ATI Essentials 3 part system. Hear great things and have 2-3 locales out of the US to buy from so I'm excited for that.

Currently do a 30G water change every 10days and vac the sandbed. Change filter socks every 4-5 days.

Provided some pics of the old tank empty, and the new livestock happy and healthy.

Gonna rent a PAR meter soon so I can gauge the best places to start finding homes for my SPS and get moving on gluing them down in the next 2 weeks. will find a coral view lens and get snapping soon. Enjoy fellow reefers!

Way over a year update. Some new additions equipment-wise to the system.

Switched from T5s and reefbrites to 3x Orphek Atlantik v4s. Very happy with the results. Getting awesome growth and color. Havent done anything greater than a 5% water change on this 225G system in over 8 months thanks to ATI essentials dosing. So very happy. Enjoy the pics.

Looks very nice. What are the dimensions of your tank? Do you find that the 3 orpheks adequately covers your tank? Also how do you like the control of the leds color groups? I believe orphek has presets and you can't control individual color groups but rather designated groups of leds.

Thanks bud. Yea i originally had only 1 small 1 large v4s. Lots of shadowing and dark corners. With 3 its much better coverage. My tank is a 60"x30"

I copied a members own schedule and tweaked it to my own liking. It is only 4 "channels" with different colors designated for each. If there's one thing Orphek is lacking its the lamen use-ability. Its very tedious to create your own schedule and then adjust that.
