There was a thin foam sheet that is in the shipping box with the tank. I kind of tore it because I almost threw it out.
The skimmer is not performing that great yet because of my low biology. I could have went with a smaller version but with my plans I decided to go larger. I am planning to have over 20 fish with a few of them being tangs and 2 trigger fish and also to carbon doser to keep nutrients in check. I won't see the performance I'm looking for until my bio load gets larger. It did pull some pretty dark skim mate but, I completed a water change, now it's tea colored. I'll have a better opinion after my next batch of fish get out of qt

If you didn't replace the foam with any other type of foam you should really contact SCA or do some research on a tank that size without any foam underneath. I think you are taking a big risk, seriously. Did you order their sump and skimmer along with your tank. If so, I might be interested in it as I only purchased the tank. I plan on making my own stand.

I didn't get their sump I took up too much space. I wouldn't have any room for anything else in the stand. I did get the sca-302 skimmer and it was actually working well. I just think it's not really rated for a 150. I passed that on to a family member with a smaller tank.

Double cone 180

How's your Double cone doing? I haven't pulled the trigger on a new skimmer yet. Considering Bubble king or ATB.

It took me about 3 weeks to Really get it performing. There are a few variables to get it tuned in, Sump water level, wedge pipe, bioload, and whatts on red dragon pump.

In te beginning it was difficult because I had a low bioload. Now that I have more fish and feed more its performing well. One problem I have with the skimmer now is that my living room STINKS!!! The skimmer is really pulling some potent stuff. I put some Kalk in the collection cup and that keeps the smell down.

Best skimmer Ive ever owned and Im still satisfied with my purchase.

The tank has been doing well these few months im still trting to deal with the high nitrates. Its to be expected with 22 well fed fish. Ive been using DIY nopox and got nitrates down from 80 ppm to 25 ppm.
Pictures were taken witb galaxy S7 in pro mode. Closest to how it looks with a 20k setting.

Thanks. Im very pleased with this setup. It's a great value.
Your right about the bio load. My plan was to be mostly LPS the first year while the tank matures. As much as I know better, I still have a hard time being patient!

Wow I forgot about this! There have been many changes and a few setbacks, but all is well. I'm still satisfied with out everything has turned out.

The tank runs at 5 ppm Nitrate with 0.03 - 0.09 PO4 using all nutrient reduction methods known to mankind. Vodka, siporax,GFO, Cheato(more for pH).
I had a major setback last summer when the temperature spiked. Everything was initially fine but a week after I started to lose coral to Brown Jelly Disease. I lost all of my euphyllia, acan colonies, and scolymia. Im about to purchase a teco chiller so that does not happen again.
Im actually enjoying the tank more now that it's settled in. Ive been growing easy to keep SPS like stylophora, pocillipora, montipora and now have upgraded to more acroporas. Video to follow.

I must say Its always something with a tank. I just discovered my red monticap has Montipora eating Nudibranches! I dip everything and sometimes I even kill coral. Something always manages to get into the display!
Next time around ill have to do a coral QT.

So I absolutely suck at updating my thread.:shhh:

I have made a lot of changes but overall I am still happy with how the tank has turned out.

I now run 8 bulb ATI T5 with Reef Brite XHO
Mtc mini Cal calcium reactor with a Kamoer Feed pump
Arid N24 Algea reactor( Not working as well as it should at the moment)

MY nutrients are currently

No3 25-50 ppm
po4 0.1ppm to 0.25 ppm
