Finally done with the canopy and stand but still needs tons of work on touch ups. It was a pain to drill and install the dual 250 and four fands on top and sides of the canopy. Installed two computer fan....damn, moves tons of wind, but very noise. Going to install another 4 X t5 54 lights into the canopy in another week or so.

Right now the tank is only running with a return sea swirl, vortech, a 800 watt heater, dual 250 watt mh and a under rated skimmer.

Hahaha, glad to have you on the same boat...hahahha..
What skimmer are you upgrading to?

Skimmer underwater??? hmmmm...you are probably right.....for me it's temporarily.......my guess is, the water exit should be above the water line, which will probably controll the water level better better within the skimmer. Maybe i'll have to get something to shift my skimmer elevation.

i'm getting an asm g3( i only have like 5 fish) i may upgrade later on.

LOL what i meant is that the skimmer should only sit in about 5-6" of water.

I see, there's someone on MR selling an asm g3 skimmer a while ago.

Yeah, i know what you mean. My skimmer is sitting in 9 to 10 inch deep water, if i put a 4 inch flat rock below my skimmer, it would make it 5 inch below water level but i'm not gonna even gonna bother with it. Since it's still skimming well. Hopefully two week is enough for DAS skimmer to come. Can't wait.

Hey Samsky. Nicely built stand. But I noticed that you used pressure treated lumber. This lumber is toxic (cynide treated) and made for exterior use only. Make sure you seal it well with some kind of water resistant paint or sealer and vaccum up all the saw dust just in case it falls into your sump. This is for you own safety the tank's inhabitants safety. Just looking out for a fellow reefer.

Thanks for looking out, I appreciated. I had a very thin layer of polyurethane on it and cleaned up all the dust. I don't see any side effect yet.....hopefully. Thanks again for the info.
