what a massive massive mistake. I keep letting it clear, then remixing the sand bed in hopes it wont get cloudy, but it does. Working on mix #5 right now :/
Lesson of the week, when you think you've cleaned your sand enough, consider yourself only 25% done and continue rinsing until you hit 100%
aquascape done. I think it looks pretty nice. ill post a pic in a little bit. still trying to clean up the massive mess i made as well as get this 90 gallon completely disassembled.
I ended up realized that i had a couple of long pieces so i made a cool arch.
Also i was mixing the sand to try to get all the silt out of it that i failed to get out when i originally cleaned the sand
Ok, here's what it turned out looking like. Not too bad. I ended up having to bury some corals to get rocks fitting the way i wanted them . But I also have it so it looks decent from 3 sides now instead of just the front. The location I have it now is in an area where 3 sides can easily be seen so I wanted it to look half way decent from all sides. Also I was able to set the rocks up more central in the tank having the extra 6 inches back to front, so im not relying on leaning on glass like i was in the 90.
The second picture is of the arch from the front.
Also it seems like the picture quality sucks big time. Not sure if its because the tank is still a little cloudy so its giving the pictures a blue hazy glow to them.
And the coral colors in this pic look like crap. looks way more awesome in person.
Just curious, what would you guys think my pod counts look like? The 90 gallon was well established for 10 years, and I moved all the same rocks over to this tank, just new sand. about 200 lbs of rocks.
I was thinking about trying to get a mandarin again, but held off for the past month or so knowing i was going to be upgrading tanks.
o right... ill get them now. haha. i went to take pictures the other day but my camera battery was dead so i put it on the charger and forgot about it. haha
here they are. my camera is horrible for taking tank pics. Also i adjusted the lighting to way more white than blue so the pics didnt come out looking like they came out of smurfville.
ok, so i have 9 BTAs in my tank. for some reason my clowns decided to abandon the BTA they used in the 90 gallon along with the other 8 of them, and now decided they are going to host the leather toadstool, although they do continue to be mostly free swimming now too.
