I need some help with my cycle. Seems this red slimy algae stuff is taking over the tank. Iv been dealing with it for a few weeks now trying to manually remove it and running GFO. Any suggestions?
Mb7 and SB are bacteria. Cyano solution is a chemical but safe. I think with it being that bad I might go right to the cyano solution. And yes added to the tank.
so I went in there and did some manual removal. turned my tank into a snow globe. I took a rio 2100 and put some tubing on the output with a filter sock. This worked better than flushing it all down into the sump.
After a 10 gallon water change, I added Ultralife Red Slime remover, turned my skimmer way down, and added an air stone for added oxygen (per instructions.) seems like it got 85% of it so Im going to dose it once more.
after its all gone I suppose I should up the GFO a bit to prevent it from coming back.
