Finally Starting a Knutez24 Tank Thread

did you notice any difference in using the bio filter media on a new tank? I got the gallon of spheres going on my new 120. I have about half of them seeding in my nano

I've noticed a drop in nitrates, but there's no way of saying that it is completely on this media in a system this young.

Yea I figured it was a 80-90 dollar gamble but I do buy into the science behind it. BRS tends to stand behind good products as well.

BRS was way more $$$ than going directly from cermedias site. It was almost double

Finally had some free time to get the apex mounted and running. Have fusion all set up, just have to start switching everything over and getting it dialed in now.

I started moving coral over from my current setup 3 weeks ago. So far everything is really happy. Need to get a FTS posted. Hopefully I can get that and some more work dialing in this apex tonight.

Finally had some free time over the weekend to plumb in my "frag" tank. Its a 30 gallon rimless. Working out pretty nicely! Moved over all the fish and coral from my old 20 gal setup so everything is on the same system finally!

Excuse the pure blue in the pics lights were about to go out for the night and didn't want to ramp them back up. Will try to get a better FTS soon.

Are you going to be dosing? Manually or using a dosing pump? I have a 75 gallon as well and I'm just curious. I manually dose alk and calc.. Has the bio block helped with the filtration that you can tell? Or nothing really yet? Sweet build and keep the pics coming!!

I have a bubble magus doser and the expansion to go with it. I dose alk,ca, mg, and a carbon source. I think the block helps. just a good way to add a ton of surface area without taking up a ton of room. Have had to vacuum detritus from it a few times. it was in there from the start so it's not like I added it and phos and nitrates disappeared.

Ya almost all wrasse with and a cardinal and ruby red scooter Blenny. Just caught the angel I had in here yesterday. Going to add a tang in its place and that will be it.

Sadly woke up to my Rhomboid on top of the netting on my tank this morning. Still trying to figure this one out. No holes in the screen, and both secure and in place.

That sucks Luke. It's weird how these things happen. There must be a gap somewhere.

checked it over 3 times now. No gap. I think it must have hit 1 of the 2 covers and popped it up just enough to slip out then it fell right back into place. They have hit it hard enough to pop it before but usually that makes the fish fall back in.

It doesn't take much, or anything, for a fish to go right through a hole, even if it's small. I have mine tripled over, at angles, like a diamond, and I just had a fish go right through it, and from the size of the fish that shouldn't have happened.
