One other part of my project was to install a generator to support the aquarium. I also included enough kw's to support my house too.
I had a 27KW Generac generator installed, a whole house ATS, along with a 1,000 gallon underground propane tank.

About a half a year after hooking it up, Sandy hit the area and boy was I glad I had the system on line.
The generator ran for a week straight, and only used 15% of the propane in the tank.

here is some info on my grow out tank:
It's in a area of my fish room that allows for fully walking around the tank.
glass cages 48x48x16 rimless 4 sided starfire glass

custom center overflow:
designed for for good flow. Internally it consist of (2) 2" drain bulk heads + (1) 2" supply bulkhead in a "t" shaped box design on floor of the tank sitting below the egg crate that the coral sit on
(designed and built by me )

The tank is plumbed behind the walls and is connected to my 220 sump
Water movement from sump is through a mocean3500 that I modified, by machining out the ID of the device to the largest that the plastic would accept to improve flow to the tank. I have 4 tunze 6201's inside the tank as well.
Lighting is hung from the ceiling to give open acess to the tank.
4-400W 20K MH bulbs - lumenbrite reflectors
4-VHO atinics

The system's flow - fish room, tanks, support equipment - are powered by a hammer head pump ( I have a spare incase of emergency )
Closed loop for the 300DD is provided by (2) super dart gold hybirds, each running through
a set of 2 mocean3500's.
I did the flex pipe install in stages, with anything showing in the tank, plumbed with black flex pipe. Looking back, I should have done it all in black.
The overflow has (2) 2" bulk heads on the sides that internally go through the bottom of the tank as supply lines to the darts. The darts 1.5" feed lines to the tank go up behind the tank to the 4 mocean3500's

Supply is split into (2) 1" lines that feed the tank

The overflow also has (2) 1.5" bulk heads that are connected to the fish room
as drains to the sump.

here are a few pictures of the mess

turbotone,

The taking my time part is killing me..
I do have a plan, and am working in that direction.
The problem is that I can only do it in bits and pieces. My work schedule is nuts... , however, that creates the $$ to allow me to work on a project like this.
