It doesnt have to, anonymous could use the same KILZ stuff to paint it. It will turn out just like the PVC hanging hook or even better, you will definitely need to secure the manifold.

touch?

I guess there's hundreds of ways that anonymous can go now, it's just personal pref at this point. come of the back with a bracket support, hang with the straps,

1/2 price?!?! I need a deal like that.

Your build is inspiring me to go and plan my manifold. Have a few thoughts in my head. I'm thinking about adding a valve on the opposite side of the return to my DT and have it shut off until I can get to a future frag tank add on.

Whats stopping you my friend? The only thing I can recommend is plan it all out on paper to the minute details and then buy everything you will need in one shot. I still keep ordering random PVC fittings that i realize I dont have.

Lucky you if you have enough space for a frag tank. I barely convinced my hubby to let me have the DT...lol :birthday:

The problem is I keep changing plans. Lol changed 4 times now. Then stuff came up and stand been on hold for the last 2 weeks. I ended up changing my whole living room around. Now I have more room now so re-planning again. Almost done with the concept and take it into action soon. Almost have everything. Just need to build a new stand. Was gonna finish turtle tank first but think I'll finish reef first and start cycling.

Glad I'm not married and my room mate has been pretty cool about it. She said "As long as I don't have to clean we're good" lol

Definitely start a tank thread when I do finalize plans.

HA ha nice roommate! Y dont u start the thread now and pass through some of the ideas. People on here give very good advice and criticism as well. I've changed my manifold already probably 4-5 times cuz i originally had a very basic "idea" instead of an actual plan for the space I have.

I hear ya! I had to sell all of mine cuz it just became too much at one time (school, family, impending marriage lol). But I am now slowly getting back into it again and I feel once reefkeeping hooks you, it never lets go! :Hydrogen:

True story~! I drew out a plan for the stand already, just need to build it now. annoying part is my floor is completely not leveled so I will need to build a base to compensate this. only 3 feet span but a 1/2"+ dip at one corner. Put it up on a temp metal stand I had laying around last night to gauge the spot it's going.

Now on to a quick update:
Sorry Ive been out of touch for some time...been splitting my time between the tank build and my family. So far I am pretty much done with the haning setup for my Radions. Only need to spray paint it, and that is where I ran into a problem. I was told by a few ppl (who know their thing) not to paint outside in this NY weather.
Cant paint inside as I have a toddler runing around and I ehard it gets pretty smelly with spray paint. Never used spray paint in my life before and am a bit anxious. maybe I can do it on my fire escape? Any thought?

Plumbing is almost done. just needs few final touches and its finished. ordered my dead rock from ReefRocks.net. hope they look good. The pics on their website loos incredible. I have about 20lbs of LR (or what used to be LR) curing in a bin for about 3 months now (it was covered in algae when I got it).
I am hoping to havwe the tank up and runng over the Thanksgiving weekend but am not sure I ll have everything finished.

Im kinda stuck now as I have to wait for someone to do all the electric things before I put the tank in place and level my stand and still havent hooked up my RO/DI unit. I got the one with drinking water set up but cant find anyone willing to drill a hole in my granit countertop :(

pheew....not such a short update as I was planing to make!

Since I've been kinda stuck with nothing else to do for the tank until electrical can finish what neds to be done, I've been doing a lot of reading regarding responsible reefing...kinda slowly re-emersing myself in the topic/hobby. I came across this thread and have been hooked on it for the last 2 days (im only on page 23 so far, but I feel like I retaken my chem class and learned more in these 2 days then in the last few months combnied)
highly recommend :

With Spray paint just dont stop on the piece go from side to side and only release/turn direction when you're no longer on the piece. otherwise it'll spot and drip then you'll have to sand it's a pain. Def don't do it indoors with kids around, if you must then open window and a fan. Dust will get on it, something that can't be helped if you're not in a painting booth, will just have to go back later and polish it out.

weird! images werent showing up in the thread but when i quoted you to respond they showed up....hmmm
y dont you just wrap the metal stand instead of building a whole new base for the stand and all. you already know the metal stand is level and "straight". Ive seen some really good looking and sturdy stands made like that. you can just have magnetic doors on the 2 sides that are accessible and the rest cover in wood and voila!:goldfish2

Ok... Need opinions!
It time to come up with a nice natural aqua scape. I want to have a minimalistic aqua scape in the tank. Used to have a wall of live rock and hated it even back then.
Option #1:

Option #2:

Option #3:

All 3 are similar with only minor adjustments. I want to know which one u guys think looks most natural.

I'm leaning with #2

Just ordered an apex unit from BRS. Crazy good price today. I wasn't planning to buy in e for another 6-8monyhs but couldn't pass it up. Almost done with plumbing. Sump is getting water test. Next is the tank to be tested. Never realized what a pain in the *** it is to fill up the tank with water in an apartment... Such a slow freaking process
