Maxi-Jet 1200 Circulation Pump - Camouflage.

I had some time to mount the pump off the euro-bracing of the aquarium. I think it came out well. But I will probably do it all over again when I upgrade the pumps in a month or two.

are u going to use any LR to seed the tank? from what i can tell, its all dead rock, thats a nice concept btw, camouflaging the powerhead w rubble rock, is there any way to position it elsewhere though, so it doesnt look like a ball of rock floating by itself,

really clean tank! looking forward to a FTS

Well about 30 gallons of the water used was CaribSea Sea-Pure purified seawater with plenty of microbes. But I don't want to use any live rock currently to avoid the introduction of hitch hikers into my tank. Also the wall on the right is not complete. I am going to make a few more structures so that powerhead appears connect to the wall and not free floating.

cool idea with power head. once tank is cycled, maybe glue some frags that would be different and superglue would hold it nice. maybe gsp on top or something simple to maintain.

your build and thread are very impressive. what are you using for a sump and pump on this set up? and did you buy factory stand or make your own, i might have missed it

Avast Marine MR5 Media Reactors.

An order of my new toys came in this week. I have decided to run not only a Carbon Reactor but also a Bio-Pellet Reactor and a Granular Ferric Oxide Reactor. Only my Granular Ferric Oxide media has not arrived yet. The Bio-Pellet Reactor is powered by a Marineland NJ1800 Maxi-Jet Utility Pump at 474 GPH and the Carbon Reactor is powered by a Marineland NJ400 Maxi-Jet Submersible Utility Pump at 106 GPH. Water clarity has improved visually over the past few days. I still have to order some test kits to get a gauge on actual water quality.

Avast Marine MR5 Media Reactors.

So it's has been a few busy weeks for me. But the media for my other reactor came in and I had some time to set them up and bring them online. I have made some modifications which are completely dependent on the media being used. On the biopellet reactor, the bio film was starting to clog both the upper and lower mesh disc. So they had to be removed in order to not obstruct flow.

Custom Canopy Project.

So I decided that getting a sun tan in my living room probably wasn't good for myself and the kids. So armed with a Hand Saw, Measuring Tape and a Dewalt Drill I managed to throw this canopy together. Still a work in progress but we can all watch television without sunglasses now.

Hello Lights ARO Electronic Metal Halide Balast with XM 10,000K 150 Watt Bulb.

My order from Hello Lights came in today so I was able to install an addition 150 watt Electronic ARO Ballast with XM 10,000K bulb on my setup. It looks a lot better in my opinion. an additional 450 watts of lighting on top of this 450 watts.
