Well I doubt any of my SPS would be collectors forum worthy... thanks a lot Karl :P

Nonsense, Mike! Just post which one you like the most. The one that you religiously check on the most

The ones I check on the most are not my favorites, because they're still not doing well. Not doing any worse, but not doing any better.

I have three montis doing very well, and also a pocillipora and pavona that have colored up a bit and are growing steadily.

However, I'm just not prepared for SPS yet. Maybe someday I'll throw a 250W halide over a 20g and try some, but not now.

I'll stick to my LPS.

BTW, Karl...I have an A. echinata and it looks NOTHING like that!

Peace,

Thanks for going against the grain, Chip :? What's the piece you posted above? Also, can we get a pic of the Acropora echinata you have? :D

I bought this coral (well, actually, it's parent by several generations of frags) from Jeff Majdali of Jeff's Exotic Fish back in 1998, who got it through Bob Mankin/Coralfarms and the Solomons farms. Grew it out in my tank for four years, trading frags of it away to dozens of people.

The pictured colony is Tracy Gray's, who I traded a couple of frags to in 2001. He sells it through Reef Farmers as a limited edition these days.

I'm looking for a frag to grow out in the new tank. Anyone who has one they'd part with, please contact me.

Here's my Oregon Tort

Hey Karl, notice the small echinata frag. It's from James @ Aquascene. I wonder if it's the same true echinata as yours?

Ok being as I don't have anything particularlly super fabulous now I'll post my favorite one.

Acropora Microphthalma, not rare, not stunning colored, but it does grow like crazy, it can take a beating and keep on ticking :) Actually I'm just waiting for everything I have to kind of fill in over the next few years then we'll see what stings what and restrticts who's growth.

The great thing about this piece is that I had a "colony" about half the size of this, however I whacked it and literally gave it a flattop, right to the base, so it encrusted and eventually branched out as viewed above, now I glued this to another rock piece, and wouldn't you know it I whacked that piece as well as it grew out, it has encrusted as well. I also found another color morph of the microphthalma and mounted it "horizontally" (it's flat against the rock but the rock is at about a 60 degree slope) but it's making a nice base before shooting up any stalks.

What happened to the frag of this I whacked off? Well I didn't want nothing my micropthalma growing in my tank so I just glued it to the in the back... oh yah it's encrusting there too!

Sounds like a real winner, Mike. You should call it the robust acro :D

cj - that's a really nice prostrata. I used to have a colony of the Hot Pink prostrata, but it died in someone else's tank after a trade :(

I have been on Steve's list for years now for a frag of Tracy's prostrata and as of yet nothing...

For my current fav. would have to be my 30,000 league lokani and a ty with my oregon tort. Sorry no pics just yet, their still babies. The lokani is bigger.

Thanks Sang...

I don't have a decent pic of mine, but in all honestly I'm constanly amazed by my cali. tort. Such a beautiful coral with such a range of color in it. Green on the body going to purple...bule tips, and bright green on the inside of the axial coralites...amazing...
