Saturation

Is there a point where the alkalinity will reach a saturation point? Where a higher alk no longer has a benfiting relationship with calcification?

Yes, there is, but I don;t know when or where that point is - I am sure that above a certian point availability is not imiting so you can't really go any faster based on that alone...I have never seen work looking at elevated alklinity. Also, I might add, I have never seen any negative side to increased alkalinity. Perhaps someone like Randy Holmes-Farley could shed some more light on this - I'd be interested too.
