After several Latin to English searches trying to define the phrase Alice and I came up with"in the sense I se it" rather thean the obvious"in the strictest sense".
Would you please elaborate? TIA

That was the obvious choice but the dictionary I found left reasonable doubt, I would really like Erics input on this

Yes, it does mean "in the strictest sense."

By proven, I mean is there experimental evidence, peer reviewed, not anecdotal, that it is contagious and that its etiology is known.
