I just confirmed next week this annual sale will be back.
unfortunautly, many NY stores I called may only sell;
10gal, 20hi, 20long, 29gal, and 55gal tanks at $1/gal
if you are looking for 40gal 36x18x16 breeder tanks;
some stores will include it in the $1 sale only if it's in the store between Jan'2-15
so the trick is to call the store to special order it now to make sure it's in stock
during that two week period. you can then pick it up for the $1/gal sales price.
make sure they get it from the warehouse, not just take it from another store.
I've heard stories of PetSmart doing price matching
during their competitor's sale period even up to 75gal tanks!
Please use this thread to post what tanks you got from this sale, and
specifics of any other LPS/chains willing to price match this well known event.
If anyone on this forum knows an accommodating manager at PetSmart who
may do a 75gal 48x18x20 tank for $75 by using the PetCo sale as an excuse,
please let me know as soon as possible in hopes of me getting one - Thanks.
They used to do this $1 sale up to 75gal since that size is the largest before
thicker glass is used, but I guess some corporate doosh made them change it.
