it wont starve...ive had a few of them in my 24 gallon for a long time, along with many smaller snails....they do a great job on normal glass and rock algae too.... if it isnt knocking things around I would keep it...great cleaner to have IMO

my last one i had starved and died, tank was spot less tho lol
