I just bought this chiller from another MR member yesterday to run on my Solana, but it isn't powerful enough for the tank so I am looking to trade it off.

Its in great condition and works fine, I just think I am going to have to stick with the 1/10 hp I was using.

For a trade I really need some sort of wavemaker. Ie. Vortec MP20, a controllable Tunze, etc. or a dosing pump for 2 part. I can supplement the trade with cash if necessary.

I am not looking to sell this, and if I can't find a good trade I will just hang on to it for a future project.

Here is a link to a stock pic as well as specs for the chiller..

Pickup is in on the upper west side (80's) or near Grand Central.

pm replied. still available.

Crysis: fwiw, i was running it on a 34g solana that is in a hot room and has the glass cover on it, and it was not strong enough. the 1/10 hp i was(am) using was strong enough but it brought the temp down too quickly for my liking. is your 39G a cadlights tank? if so very nice :)

hmmm then I doubt it would be powerful enough for a 29bc the room mine is in is pretty hot. I bet this chiller would go great for like a 20L though. Good luck with the sale.

i have a 1/10 on 85 gallolns and you would have 1/20 on 30 and you would have .13333- more horse power per gallon. and mine handles it perfectly.

Just to chime in here...

I have no idea if it would be enough for your bc29 but assuming your are just running the stock lights and didnt shove a halide in there or something it would probably be fine.

My tank doesn't need anything to keep the temp down if i run it without the lid, but with the glass lid on the temps shoot up to 85-87 which is just too much for this chiller...
