How are these with growth? Are they just supplemental or can they be used stand alone? How much would it be for 3 strips and anything needed to power them shipped to 11501? Also do these need to be mounted in the water or can they be mounted up to 8" above the surface?
Thanks,
Shawn

Hi Shawn. I mainly use the blue ones for moonlights/actinics. However, I am testing white with blue ones in my frag tank on acans, zoas and orange caps monti, all acans, zoas looked fine even the orange cap kept its color. Its been almost 2 months now. We ll see how the corals will stand up to the test. Although these leds are submersible, I still wouldnt let them touch water. PM me if u are interested. Thanks.

No problem, wingo is good friend of mine, his leds are great too.

But one thing i am not sure of from your statement.

I tested my setup... i run 3 strips and total wattage consumption is only 20 watts.. That means they dont take up much power, but more leds lights too. I just tested on 2 strips, comes out to be 19 watts.

Also, $75 is the total for 3 strips ... not 2. Plus shipping. I think you did the math wrong. If u get 2 strips it would probably be the same price as his. I have power supplies for them too. But, I rather not deal with shipping anyway. Good luck.

so what's the REAL wattage r ur strips? in one statement u said 3 strips 20 watts, that is 6.66 watts each (red) and the next statement u said 2 strips 19 watts, that is each 9.5 watts(blue)?

can u state what leds are used in ur strips, that should clear everything.

John, sorry for the confusion on my part.

I tested out everything today.
I have set of 3 blue for one tank using 1 adaptor with reading of 21 watts
another set of 3 blue on another tank using 1 adaptor with reading of 25 watts.
The 2 strips were actually white leds with reading of 19 watts.

I also tested "other's" 3.3 feet 1 blue led that i bought from someone and the reading was 6 watts.

This is hard to say, I know people with 24" deep tank using them without complaint. I think maxium depth would be 30 inch if u place them near surface.

I have these leds on my 180g tank. It's 24 inch deep and it has no problem penetrate to the bottom of the tank. Here's some pictures taken with the leds. Enjoy!!!

I also tested wingos 3.3 feet 1 blue led that i bought from him before and the reading was 6 watts.

I was informed about this post by someone who wants me to clear your claim about my 96LEDs being only 6W.

Can you please tell us how you TESTED my 96LEDs(I assume that's the one you mean) and claimed it's 6 watts? Please make sure you can back up your TEST in a proper and correct method. Claiming someone else products of a certain specs while you are aggressively selling similiar products, is no joking issue if you cannot back up what you say. You can continue to sell your own stuff in whatever way you want without smearing mine. Please let us know how you come to the point that my 96LEDs is 6 watts.

This is a formal moral and business request.

:shhh: HIS LED ARE GREAT TOO.

Well but stating a particular product of mine 3.3 feet 96LEDs which he wants to compete with me in wrong spec is not moral if intentional( for business gain), and not professional if due to ignorance(not knowing how to test it right.)

I do treat him as a friend too and, as a matter of fact, we eat lunch just couple days ago and many times before. But in business, which he clearly is now with stocking(these products do not grow out from a tank, one has to buy before you can sell) and aggressive selling, and also in terms of proper moral, we cannot state someone else stuff with wrong info. The specs he provided is not a preference of likings or not but specific numbers. These specific numbers carry a long way, I was asked by inquires questioning whether I am cheating them. So if it's only negligence, he still need to apologize to the public and to me. If he said, "he hates mine" or "he likes his better" or even taking it to further extreme with saying "he likes candle light moonlight better than mine", no preoblem with me. I never mention whether I like nor hate his nor with a specific number either. However, when he stated it with a number(specific thing) and add a word TESTED, then it becomes very wrong.

Imagine you bought a 400MH and then another company state that he TESTED it to be only 250W. What would you, the buyer, think?

Hi wingo, calm down. lol.

Let me try to clear this up. Couple of people had asked me what wattage are on my leds, so i did a test on a kilawatt meter. While I was at it, i remembered I bought one from you while back, and tested it too. Those were the results, all real. Just thought people like to know instead of guessing or believing on what sellers claims. If u like, i can even do the test in front of you. I am fair, I would never try to deceive people by claiming this or that just to make a sale.

How about this from you.
The 96LEDs are using .01W LEDs so a total 9.65W each strip and thus you should use something slighhtly higher. A REGULATED 1000ma 12V ac/dc adapter is good.

Most of the strip light on th market uses 0.005W LEDs and thus 144 LEDs are ~7W and 120 is 6W

You are implying other length LEDs are weaker, and yours is more powerful, where are u getting this from? and do you have proof? Bashing your competitors products and making yours look good is right or proper moral to you then?

I wouldnt have tested yours if i didnt read this on your thread. Just wanted find to out what the datas are on all of them. Sorry maybe I should have just kept it to myself and claim stuff just to hype up my sale as well.
