I just woke up to water splashing on the ground: my tank sprung a leak. I am in damage control mode.

Coral colonies are in the sump as best as I can, but trying to empty the tank and catch the fish to avoid water damages.

It is a bring your own water deal though. Come with a bucket and I'll give you a big colony before they die.

In Manhattan, close to Gramercy Park

kidninja Helped me out with the corals. He will post separately if he needs to make some room and frags etc. *a thousand thanks to him*

Thanks a lot everyone who reached out. Not a fun situation to be in, but **** happens, just have to keep a cool head and take it with a smile.

We need more reefers like "Kidninja"!

Good job :D

Now that the sediments have settled, I would like to thank @kidninja for:
- coming so quickly
- making back and forth trips under the rain
- storing the colonies in his tanks and reaching out online to place them
- spending the day fragging and distributing frags

This enabled me to save all the fish minus one (a Pseudochromis paccagnellae, so not really something rare), and focus on cleaning up the tank to make sure the mess would be properly contained.

I must say I am really lucky to have been home when it happened, and to have had such a great guy a couple of blocks away. The first time this happened to me (6-7 years ago), I had placed the corals in plastic bins, then ran to get a new tank, set it up, put them back, and lost a lot of them.

I hope that the corals survive in their new homes, and make people as happy as I was to raise them for close to 13 years.

Lesson learned: if you see the silicon weakening on your tank, do not wait too long to get a new one. (a bitter lesson considering that's the second time it happens)
