I built this with type 2 ge silicone and practically wiped out my display tank.. If anyone has any use for it let me know if not going in the garbage. Thanks WARNING the silicone can and Prob will kill live stock so must be scraped clean or whatever to get rid of bad silicone

Imo I doubt it was the silicone. I've used all kinds of sil on all different builds and tanks. Probably something else. Just like glue, they have coral jell for frags and I've used clear gorilla glue and ro warer too. I know guys using tap in a 250 gallon and guys using ro on a 30 and the 250 looks better.

It's not the silicone. If you didn't wait long enuff for it to cure that's what would have wiped your tank. GE 2 cures in a different way then ge 1 and requires a longer cure time.

I built it 2 Saturday's ago and went away for a week lol so it was deff cured.. the tank was my old display tank and was fine so wasn't the tank.. As soon as I took the tank off line and did the water change like everyone told me to do coral stRted opening back up.. So the only thing that was different was the silicone I used to do baffles.. I didn't change plumbing or anything else took all old stuff out of old sump put it into the new one and started tank back up next morning display tank looked like a tornado hit it..

If all you did was baffle it you can remove the baffles and all the silicone around them with a razor blade.

After you carefully remove it all just let it sit in a vinegar bath overnight that way you can also test it for leaks, next day remove water and rinse/dry.
