Hi all,
What a ride it has been! I got into this hobby over 2.5 years ago, and have learned a lot from you, starting from scratch with FOWLR, and them moving into some easy corals. It's been a lot of fun, but with other priorities in life, I need to take a break from the hobby, at least for a while. I will be dismounting my 46G bowfront and selling it shortly.
And right now, I have four beautiful fish to give away - for free! These are: Coral Beauty, Royal Gramma, AQ Banggai Cardinal and a Sixline Wrasse. The fish have been with me for well over two years, are healthy and doing great. It's been quite an adventure, with so many memorable events! And the most amazing one just happened just last month, when we had to evacuate due to Irene. Not only we're in low-lying area, my basement sits 4' below ground level. Thus, with a real threat of seawater flooding, I moved everything upstairs and pulled the breakers on all electric lines in the house... except one, to the tank. And next morning, we sneaked right back home, just after the high tide. Half of my street was still submerged, as I waded along to the higher ground... the seawater had stopped not even 40' away from my house... and when I walked in, the home was dry, and the tank was purring along sweetly, with fish swimming happily inside
It was a very special moment...
Now I want to give these animals a new home, large enough, peaceful, and where they will be well taken care of... If you have the facilities and means to take them in, please let me know. I would like to give them all in one shot to an experienced aquarist. I live in Sheepshead Bay area in Bklyn.
Regards,
-Toly.
