Heater Recommendation?

derutz, that would work buuuut you would need a cnstant flow of water thru so u dont boil evap all the water and the temp would bave to be set 4 times higher to get the heat transfer youd want out in to the surounding water...

Hey dreutz as stated a bunch of timesa lot of people have the issue of bad heaters- as known theyre the biggest P.O.S. on the hobbyist level. Just pick a good heater. If you have problems you have problems. Unfortunately you as well as all of us are stuck between a rock and a hard place. We cant go without a heater, even though they all suck. I believe the companies knows this and is why they dont up their quality-- theyll sell either way so why fix something thats broke- if itll cost them in the longrun with lower sales.

Best advice I can give you is not to test the safety feature of them- if it says auto shut off when no longer submerged take their word for it and dont try it. If its going to be out of water during maintenance shut it down 10-15 minutes prior to let it cool down and have less chance to possibly crack due to instant and extreme temp change of plastic, or shatter if glass due to the temp rising so quickly due to no water being around it.

WHY do we allow these companies to get away with poor/inferior quality products??????????????????

We all need to start sending out emails/letters to this irresponsible companies.

That commercial didn't work on me, instead of taking the message to avoid drugs I just got hungry and could only think about how good those eggs would taste with bacon!!
