anyone add anything to cpr bak pak skimmers?

have a bak pak and just interested if anyone has added rubble or cheato to the back or any other mods. does anyone use the bio bale, it seems like a nitrate trap to me?

I use a jager, and I hang it over the side in a way that only the top thermometer is touching a wall.

i have once added Seachem's PhosGuard (instead of the bio-bale) ...

Try it and see.
In a nutshell, most anything that you add (exception of a heater) will impede the flow through rate and possibly cause your water level in the CPR to flucuate up and down.

adding mangroves in that last tank is also good.
