I Started My 72 Gal 4 Weeks Ago,all My Levels Are Perfect Now,when Should I Do My First Water Change And How Much Should I Do? Going To Start Using My Skimmer Tommorow.

I Have 200lbs Live Rock,no Coral Yet, Any Help Out There?

ALL LEVELS ARE Perfect,the Brown Alge Is From The Light,but I Remove Every Other Day

Even If I Am Running My Metal Halides For 7 Hrs.what Levels Would Cause Brown Alge On The Glass? My Skimmer Is Not Even Pulling Alot Anymore,all Fish Are Doing Great, I Only Think That I Was Maybe My Calcium Was A Little High And For The Past Week I Stop Ading It To My Tank So I Get It Were It Was Supposed To Be.

Elevated nitrate and/or phosphate levels will cause brown algae.

Did you read the link I posted about your algae problem? It addresses the issues you've brought up since it was posted.

i disagree wes/dean, all my levels are at their recommended levels on my tank, i added a small tank plumbed into my sump, added some sand and poof dietrius to hell 2 days after the sand was added=0) This also only affected the small tank, display was not affected in any way. Im also pretty sure its because of the lights having crappy bulbs along with bacterial colonization in the new sand.

I was just asking if you have been checking to see if a cycle has happened or not. =0) But im pretty sure the age of the tank is causing a dietrius bloom due to the old algae dying/new growing thing happening.
