Yes, I picked some of the Petco water up on Saturday as well...It seems to be a good substitute for the expensive NutriWater.

For those of you answering my lighting questions...thanks!! I just installed thew new HQI MH light canopy for the Nano 24G Deluxe. It looks and works great. I am hoping will help the current status of my poor corals which have taken a turn for the worse. I am troubleshooting other areas to determine if and what my problem is in the tank.

Thanks!

Seems you already got your info from the thread, however if you're looking for mods for your 24nano in the future...check out www.nanotuners.com

I've bought at least 4-5 things through them. Their products and service department are top notch.

Mario, Yes it is catalina water just repackaged in a petco brand box. The drawback of the schlepping of the boxes of water to your car? Like anything you buy you need to carry it somewhere right?

$11.99 for petco water/5g
LFS sells Nutriseawater for 18.99/4.4g

Some asked the type of lighting the Nano uses...

The website also states(and this might have something to do with my corals dying), that the lights should be replaced every 14-16 months and they decline with age...mine are almost 24 months old! They are fluorescent, not the HDI(halide I believe). But the lighting could not explain why Leather(my leather coral) is turning white.
Thanks!

WOAH how has no one else picked that up? Yes that was DEFINITELY a problem, those fluorescents should have been fine for most softies but not with really old bulbs, when bulbs get old they give off the wrong kind of light.Did you get algae like crazy? I know you have the new light and your tank IS better off with it but the same rules apply, more so with Halides because they have a shorter life.

Hey Navy, are your corals doing better with the lighting change?

My coral are doing very well thanks...I just added a frag of green zoos with a pink center. Very cool. My chili coral has survived the white growth that fell off and healed itself. It is growing mad crazy and my yellow polyps have moved to a new rock and started budding youngsters...my first ever. My frogspawn, despite losing 3 out of his 6 heads, is doing well. I am hoping that is "sprouts" new heads, but it has yet to happen.
Question: How long do HQI lights last? Mine are approaching the 6 month mark.

thanks for inquiring!
