From NY aquatics... online..For healthy fish...
Don't know if you know or not, but it's a good idea to have cycled you tank first...
How far in the saltwater process are you???
Welcome to MR. To find great quality livestock please check out our Vendor forum and our for sale forum. You can't go wrong in those 2 places. MR is the best place to find out information and get great deals on stuff live and equipment.
Welcome to MR. How about telling us a bit about your setup? Maybe some pix? Manhattan Reefs is sponsoring a frag swap on December 9th at Pace University (downtown). It would be a great place for you to pick up quality livestock, equipment and meet LOTS of local members.
Welcome. The frag swap will be a great place to pick stuff up. My suggestion since you are starting fresh is wait till the end you can get some great bargins. Buy what you really want early but save some cash for the end of day clearance. I am pretty new and did that at the NJ swap. I did get some stuff from Pnoyreefer(member here) that was very nice. I saw a lot of his other stuff very nice too. I bought a few other things that I really liked but then at the end picked up some odds and ends cheap(wish I had saved more money for the end).
Make sure you have a cooler for your frags too.
Ask the sellers if what you want to buy will work, they are very helpful.
Learn as much as you can.
I know it is a month off but spend that time planning and you will not be sorry for it. Learn the right kind of water, lighting, and stuff here.
Your tank will need to cycle too. For your drygoods go with one of the venders here. But learn as much as possible before you buy and get started.
Hope it helped as a I have recently started a reef tank vs FOWLR(fish only with live rock(it took me a while to learn that too))>
The people here and on a few of the other boards are SUPER in helping out.
