Hey guys. I just connected my 10,000k's 150 MH.. and It looks Yellow!!!!..

I thought 10k was suposed to be white!.... I don't like it...

is 14,k white or is that more blue.. any pictures with the difference?..

The only thing that made it better is the 55w 50/50 that I turned on at the same time...

it depends a lot on the manufacturer...i have a 20K xm bulb that looks more like 14k. i've seen 10k look white, while some look more yellow. what brand bulb are you using?

also, the ballast can make the bulb put out less light than it's supposed to. i've seen 2 of the same brand and kelvin temperature look different because of 2 different ballasts.

you could replace the 50/50 with a straight actinic...that would knock some of the yellow out.

I have the 20K XM bulbs. It was a bit towards the blue side, but I had no complaints. I had some guy come over and tell me that the 14K Phoenix is bluer than my setup. I'm gonna give them a try for my next set of bulbs. I had 10K (Current USA brand?) and it was quite yellow. It may not be the most pleasing to the eye but it's definitely a good bulb.

I use 250W BlueLine E ballasts with XM 10000k bulbs. They look white and I have had good results. I have also used BlueLine 14000k bulbs which have a blue tint. I run 3 MH and 2 VHO super actinics on my 150. The outer two MH are XM 10000k and the middle is BlueLine 14000K...we like the difference in lighting.
