i just got my hands on another tank from a family member (cant beat free!) its a 55gal, its never been filled, ive allready filled it, its not leaking but it has collected some considerable dust being as that its spent its entire life in a basement, just wondering if anyone has any advice to how i should go about cleaning this tank before i go ahead and set everything up.

I would start by getting the dust and whatever might be in their out, and just clean real good with vinegar and water.

haha yah, ur right, just checkin for leaks, everything looks good, so it looks like its all go from here, ill be cleanin it/settin everything up asap. i got the tank for free because my relatives had this setup, the stand they had it on failed, tank broke (huge mess!), they bought a new tank, and ended up moving shorty after and just never set the stuff back up, so they heard i was into the hobby and gave me the new tank + all the equipment for nothing. cant beat that! :D

i would take it out back, turn it on it's side, and use the hose on it, with a sponge that has never been used(no soap)
