It's possible that your clownfish actually died before your anemone ate him. Clowns have a protective mucus around them that makes them immune to the anemone's stings. This means that even if the anemone managed to catch the clown for some off reason, if the clown was healthy, it would easily be able to escape the anemone because of its immunity. The stings aren't affecting him while he's trying to escape so he's not getting weaker as he moves away. The clown must've been dead or sick for the anemone to eat him.
hi ya the clown was bought about a week ago and seemed to be really heathly but my other clown had ick or something almost looked like he was losing skin ther both dead now if it was ick ill wate a month before i get a new fish i posted pics of my other clown that died check it out let me know what u think thanks i aclamated the one i just got for 35 min. and the one that had the skin problem i had for 5 months thanks again

were they the same species of clown? i have a maroon and a percula and i had to seperate them cause they wanted to kill each other. maybe they killed each other, and the anemone just cleaned up the mess and took the rap? :?
