Hey everyone! I've been away from the game for about 2 years due to the wonderful thing called the ARMY :D It's all good! Anyways. I'm looking to put a nice aquarium in my house, and I was wondering what the "best" skimmers are these days. I used a remora skimmer back in the day. I don't know if anything has come out that blows that out of the water (not literally).

Also.....

Does anyone have any knowledge on setting up a Calcium Reactor? I used to use 2 part b-ionic, but I think that a Ca reactor would just be easier.

Anyone...HELP :) Thanks!

Oh, you did not miss much. Skimmer is still running on the same concept and not much have changed in the past few years. A couple brands with nice reps, AquaC, Euroreef, Tunze. There was another brand that I have heard some very nice comment was ATI bubble master. Never used it, but was heard the foam is as creamy as cappucino

FWIW, I really like my needlewheel skimmer. It chops up the bubbles really fine before sending it into the chamber. I would go for some sort of needlewheel.

I agree.. check out octopus recirculating skimmers. I just bought one new and I love it. It skims great, has a great bubble column and is made of nice thick cast acrylic.
