I am thinking about getting one and was just curious to know if I have a adequate setup for one. I have a 44 gallon tank with 70 lbs of live rock, 20lbs of live sand, with a protein skimmer and two powerheads and a power compact light. I dont have any fish yet but I want to get some clowns I just want to know if my tank can hold a ritteri and are there any tricks or hints on keeping them healthy please let me know.

IMO you do not have adequate room or lighting for this species. They get large and require intense lighting.

IMO your best best for a potential host anemone would be a captive propagated BTA. Although they do not require as much light as the Ritteri, personally, I would still up the lighting to at least two or more full length PC lamps.

Oh my, I agree, your tank is way too small for a ritteri. They get huge. I also have only ever seen them thriving in tanks with very intense lighting.

One thing about anemones also, is that even if you find a small specimen, they can expand to very large proportions quickly, given that they are mostly water. So you can't even say "well, I will upgade later if it gets too big" because it could get too big on you in a month with good care.

I agree that a nice bubble tip is the way to go.

Third that.

Need a much biggertank, much stronger light. Not an animal for a small tank or a newer reefkeeper.

Also, Ritteris wander, powerheads in the tank are asking for pureed anemone.
