i have a small mushroom on a bit of LR,its red and it opens up big in the light,i dont have MH lights,just 1 30w daylight and 1 30w marine white, will it get bigger or even spread????????
Mushrooms don't require much light, so you don't need MH for them to prosper. Under the right conditions the mushroom will grow and spread. You can even frag it to speed along the spreading process. Do a search for mushroom fragging or propogation if you are interested. Are your lights NO fluorescents or PC's? What size tank do you have? Both of these will determine how well the mushroom does. If it is spreading out really big and looks like it is stretching it might not be getting enough light. It is stretching itself to get as much light as possible. If this is the case, try moving it up higher in the tank and see if it does better.
