I have a 55 gallon FOWLR and was thinking about using Purple Up. Has anyone ever used it before and what is your opinions on it. I want to try to get more growth on my live rocks. Thanks.

what are you currently dosing the tank with?

And alot of people have mixed feelings about purple up. I stopped using purple up since my tank change over and i got coraline growth already on my Powerhead in 2 months. Was a little slower to get growing when using purple up in my old tank. but that could be just different lighting and stuff.

don't use purple up. patience and water changes will help. as long as there is coralline algae on your rocks that's all you need.

two part wouldn't hurt but you must test your levels when adding two part.

purple up

i used it with no effect's started using evs 2 part and coraline started coming a little faster. if it's coraline you are after find someone when they are scraping their tank and get some of it, gives the fastest results

not good

i used early on waste of money.
get a good A & B, keep the Ca and dkh in the range, regular water changes, some algae present (either on rocks or from scrapping another tank).

most people that start a reef, buy some live rock and some base rock(reeferrock.com). the live rock acts a seed the rest of the rock over time
the base rock will become live rock.
