dammit tell that to the scallop, his azz was knawing on the head of my algea blenny this morning lol i had to pull it out of it's mouth

In general, the scallop would not be the cause of most of the fish deaths in your tank. Flame Scallop basically do not eat fish nor krill but the filtering action of the scallop may have drawn the small pieces to its filter which actually could be damaging to the health of the scallop. Flame Scallops do not stink nor are they even real scallops-they just like so.

However, I had once found a CBB with the flame scallop still cramping onto its long mouth. I assume, the CBB must have picked on the tentacles of the scallop(like my CBB always do) and caused the drama.

:scratchch Read this article and all your answers will be solved... Flames are harmless. Scallops are filterers and that is all. I have one and it is fine with other fish and corals. It moves from side to side of the tank trying to find an optimal spot to filter. When I feed the tank (you name it it goes in: phyto, zooplex, mysis, krill water, etc.) the scallops opens up and eats.

Take a pic of this "head of blenny", maybe it likes a soft spot to snooze hence the automatic clamping of the scallop.:splitspin
