maybe some pvc parts, 90s, some hiding spots; as opposed to LR, you don't want to waste your time/$ (not to mention the life of anything in the LR) with whatever you might be QTing. Welcome to MR

PVC = polyvinyl Chloride. Its basically the pipes we use for plumbing. The PVC is simply to create some hiding places for the fish that we quarantine. By having hiding places the stress levels get reduced.

yes, QT inverts is also a good idea. While ich doesn't prey on inverts, it can be carried in on them. By QT'ing inverts, you keep any hitchhiking ich cysts in a fish-free QT environment, and eventually they die. then you plop the inverts into your display.

...it takes so much darn patience to do this hobby well!

How long would you suggest QTing inverts?

thanks..i didn't realize they could carry ich. let me ask you a few questions...how long do you QT them for, and if you have only inverts and coral in your main tank, how long can the ich live for? in other words, if you are just setting up your CUC but not planning on adding fish for a month or so, would you still need to QT them? i thought ich died fairly quickly without a fish to host on. obviously QTing them would be more important if you were adding them once you had fish, but for the initial CUC, is it as important? thanks.
