hello all . i have a ? about how can i install a wet dry while i have fish in my tank . i have a fuval fx5 canister filter. and i wanted to move into a wet dry with out takin nothing from the tank. i know that it sounds crazy but i know some body must be here to help me.

i'd reccomend a sump/refugium instead of a wetdry. bioballs tend to be a nitrate trap. You can set it up easily with the fish in it. I'm going to assume your tank isnt reef ready. You'll just need to purchase an overflow.

Lemme just say that wet/dry's are obselete POS :D

they will surely bring the death of ur tank in a few months, do yourself a favor and visit melevsreef.com and click on his sump pics. Im a visual man myself you'll see the difference between a refugium, a sump, and the crap a wet/dry is.

where are you getting your info? LFS?

canister filters are also a big no no, unless theres no sponges in it and maybe some carbon that is changed out FREQUENTLY.

they can be as bad as wet/dry's as well
