I'd like to add if someone is going to start Vodka dosing PLEASE, PLEASE read up on subject!!!!!! don't go by my tank!!!!! everyone's tank is different.
you need to check your nitrates and phosphates with photometer and and High quality test kit I use a lamotte for nitrates.
you need to start out slow and monitor the effects of the dosing it doesn't happen over night in fact it took me months to see any real long lasting effects.

You have risk the temptation, "wow so and so's tank looks nice, he/she vodka doses my tank is 1/2 the size so I'll use half the dosage"
it doesn't work like that at all!

keep in mind most of the time we put our best foot forward and post pictures when things are at their best, we tend not to admit our screw ups
that'shuman nature.

I have a few of rules that I have lived by in 30 years I have been keeping saltwater fish

1. I research the death out of something before I do it including adding fish in which I know little about. ( easy now with the internet and there is tons of info out there published by qualified people)
2. nothing good happens fast in saltwater/ reef tank
3. I don't add anything into my tank that I can't test for

if you are the type that's is into "instant gratification" this isn't a hobby for you :smash:
