How Do You Get Great Tank Shots

What the best way to get great tank shots. Do you use a tripod with a macro do you use a flash. do you shoot from up top or thought the tank? whats the best way to get the great shots.

I see some great shots would like to do the same!!

Have the whole room dark except for the fish tank lights. This is typically easiest done at night otherwise you might get a reflection off the glass. No flash, room light off.
Tripod will help, and macro if you want to get closer details.
