I am looking to buy a new camera that will allow me to take better pictures of my tank and other stuff. I currently have a point and shoot canon elph and I am considering a Nikon D5000. Does anyone have one of these and can you let me know if it allows you to get really good pics with the 18mm-55mm VR lens.

If anyone has another recommendation that would be as good as this let me know.

thanks!

cd I got the d90 a couple of months ago and love it. Its a couple of hundred more for the kits. Im sure the 5000 will do just fine- would have done me fine too but a good friend and MO~IDOL on here said the 90 was a great cam so I got it. Heres a head to head comparison these guys did of the 2 hope any information in it helps you out

Either ones I dont think youll go wrong with- theyre both Nikons or you can go with a good canon also.
