Nice pics Josh!

Try top down, f14, with -.5 to -1 EV, in RAW, center weighted, remote with tripod, with auto white balance.... That seems to be my sweet spot for good pix!

Picasa, Lightroom, or PS4 for tweaking to a realistic color and exposure.

How do you do a top down with a tripod?

Depends on the tank and the tripod. Most of the midrange to higher end tripods will have a ball head, or head capable of tilting to the necessary angle. Then its just a matter of positioning over your tank and shutting off all the pumps (which should be done for thru the glass shots as well, to avoid any movement).
