Medusa's are scavengers. Where is the emperor shrimp???? They're the best out of the pair lol! Tobin, be careful with medusas, I know they can excrete a toxin when they get stressed or their body tears open. I'm not entirely sure how toxic it can be but I've seen a lot of fish just drop at once from contact with it. Very cool stuff though, one of my favorites. Keep an eye out for the black and white medusas, even cooler with a little red shrimp hanging out on them.

My emperor shrimp go back and fourth between the 12"teardrop and worms.. I tried to get a shot of all 3 of them on the clam but the depth of my tank takes horrible shots from the front and a top down at night just doesn't work out good.

Bob, those are not rare at all. Most people just don't want them at all. Why can you have them and others can't? I don't understand that part. Anyways if you want one I sent you a PM, I know a new LFs in NJ that has 3 now and he always carries them. There was one with a red coloration there also. He also has baby cuddle fish. Things are not rare you just gotta know which LFS to go to.

Rare to keep.. How many people you know that have them for a long time??
Mines is still kicking/swim,,lol.. Correction most people can't keep them for one of several reasons.. The way my system is set up with no powerheads and a lot of flow, allows me to keep alive what others can't..

Wow this thread is getting me a lot of hate mail,,lmao and loving it.. I feel the need to openly clarify "the things I got that others don't" I mean "keep alive" and not for a month or 2.. The Medusa worm is still kicking even through the vodka double dose,,,lmao..
Oh yeah I got a new Steve Tyree monti also, pics up tomorrow and my branching orange cyphastrea piece is looking better than ever thanks Alex/Aquatic Express..

If you set up a tank for whatever you want to kepp, than you have better odds at keeping it. If you want a medusa tank then you try to make a tank for them, Just like seahorses and pipefish have different tanks than a reef or fowlr tank. Not a big deal to me. But thats my opinion.

I do value your opinion but doing what I've done is not easy for most people, even species only systems I've seen...My reef was set up for all the animals I have placed in it.. That was the whole idea behind the set up.. Keeping hard to keep animals with ease,, that's the big deal..:biglaugh:
Big deal#1:I have a serious amount of flow and still have low flow animals..
Big deal#2: Keeping these animals happy through the problems I have had in the last month..
Big deal#3: My Sps colors...
Big deal#4:The stability of my system, even when it's not stable..lmao
How many tanks you know that have these hard to keep species thriving???
