recently I added a few serranus species basses to my tank.

This is an Serranus Annularis (Orange back bass). i added two of these.

the other bass I added is another serranus sp. I was told it was not yet fully named. An awesome fish as you can see from the colors and patterns.

Are the Annularis a male/female pair?

Any idea why they have such an oddly shaped pupil?

I don't know if the annularis i have are M/F. I just like to add multiples of fish if I can in the hopes that they will form a pair. Not even sure if these fish are sequential hermaphrodites. So far the 2 have not killed each other, so there is hope that they could become a pair.

As for the shape of the pupil.. I have have no idea why its shaped like it is.

Sanjay, they look sweet my friend. Do you shoot your pix in video mode and just select a single frame? My fish like to swim. Yours seem to pose for you :banghead:
