How do I take cool pics?

So I bought a Nikon D80 for more than I can afford because I miss not having a camera. So I bought a Nikon D80 with a 18-135mm and a 75-300mm VR what do I need to take really cool pictures of my corals and fish. I know one thing for sure I need to pick up a good flash and a defuser. What else do I need to do, what other kinds of lenses and filters will I need.

see the photography forum here for some tips. the guys who take great pix here mostly use macro lenses if i'm not mistaken.

get yourself a tamron 90mm lens. Jhale recommended it to me and i've never been so happy with it!

patience,trial n error,practice, n last but the the least "luck"
to get that "special great shot".

how does a 28-90mm f3.5/5.6 macro for $75 sound not sure on the make just yet but trying to get an idea and is that any good for this stuff? Thanks
