canon powershot s5 is 8. help needed

ok i got a canon for xmas, and have been playing with it, still need to get a tri pod and going to get the lense's for better macro, but dont seam to be able to get any good pic's, my cheap work cam does better, what should i have my iso, ftp and ect set at. and help is appriciated

I have the s3.. what i do is place the capture mode on av or c mode - hold the button for super macro @ the side of the lens - and practice taking pics..

I have taken over 20K pics with the S3 and I have played with the S5, they are virtually identical. If you have a specific question I can give you a specific answer. I highly recommend the Photobert CheatSheet for the powershot S3. it is a two sided laminated sheet which will answer any questions you have about nearly all the features and its only $10.
For starting out, use the Av mode. Push the macro button once for taking pics from 4-20" away and hold the macro button down until an 'S' shows up on screen for taking images <4" away. Good luck.
